EAAF worked in Chihuahua State on the recovery and identification of over 60 female remains associated with the investigation of murdered and disappeared women in Ciudad Juarez and the city of Chihuahua.
EAAF members worked in the state of Chihuahua on a project to exhume, analyze, and attempt to identify the remains of approximately eighty female individuals associated with the investigation of murdered and disappeared women in Ciudad Juárez and the city of Chihuahua.
EAAF continued its consultancy work in Mexico. An EAAF member traveled to Mexico to participate in an international seminar titled "Truth Commissions: Torture, Reparations, and Prevention." Recently, EAAF was asked to assist a new Special Prosecutor investigating cases of people disappeared for political reasons during the 1960's and 1970's.
At the request of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in 2001 EAAF joined an advisory mission to the government of Mexico. Together with a Portuguese Legal-Medical expert, we elaborated a set of protocols for forensic investigations, and gave seminars for members of the Mexican Judiciary, NGOs, and medical professionals.
